Colorado would find victory with five Eagles finding the back of the net.

LOVELAND, CO – Forward Jake Wise would find a way to get past Ontario’s goalie twice while defenseman Devante Stephens would get his first goal of the season.

The Eagles came out swinging with Stephens and Ontario defenseman Luke Rowe dropping their gloves just 16 second into the first period.

Colorado left-winger Tye Felhaber would take that energy and rebound one in from the left crease 20 seconds later giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead with 19:24 left in the period. Colorado goalie Kevin Mandolese would go on to combat the eight shots taken against him to end the first stanza 1-0.

Heading into the second period, defenseman Reilly Walsh would find the back of the net from the lower slot to even out the score 1-1 3:38 in.

Colorado would go on to respond with forward Jake Wise getting one in from the top of the crease with 14:43 to go in the stanza.

The Eagles were able to capitalize on a powerplay when defenseman Jacob MacDonald shot one down the slot from the blue line to gain a 3-1 advantage 9:03 into the second interval.

Keeping the momentum, Colorado found its way past the goalie for the fourth time with defenseman Jack Ahcan from the crease with 4:47 left on the clock to make it 4-1.

Looking to cut the lead, defenseman Angus Booth shot one in from the right crease 18:13 into the middle frame to make the score 4-2.

Ontario would be first to put one into the net in the final period with center Glenn Gawdin from the slot with 16:21 left in the game.

The Reign would follow that goal up with another from forward Shawn Element from the right-wing circle just 28 seconds later to cut the Eagles lead and tie it up 4-4.

Colorado defenseman Devante Stephens would find a way past Ontario’s goalie from the top of the crease to put the Eagles at a 5-4 advantage with 5:25 to go.

Wise would light the lamp for the second and final time of the night on an empty net from below the blue line with just 35 seconds left to end the competition 6-4.
